Wholesale & Custom Manufacturing

What's the minimum wholesale order?

14 puzzles.

Puzzles are produced and priced by the carton, and one carton holds 14.

The exception is piece count: 1,000-piece wholesale runs start at 1,008 units (72 cartons). Below that, order 1,000-piece through the retail shop at $69.99 each, or consider our 550-piece and 500-piece options, available from 14 units.

How do I see wholesale pricing?

Wholesale pricing is volume-tiered — the more units in a single order, the lower your per-unit cost, with breaks continuing past 5,000 units. Piece count affects price too, though less than volume does.

Access is two steps:

  • Request access — email aweatherly@portlandpuzzle.com and we'll send you an access code.
  • Enter your code at the Wholesale Portal for the full rate table and an auto-calculating quote form — model quantities, piece counts, and design counts and see real per-unit cost immediately.

Go to the Wholesale Portal

Can I split my order across multiple designs?

Yes.

The number of designs scales with order size:

Order size Max designs
14 puzzles (1 carton) 1
28–42 puzzles 3
56–182 puzzles 4
196–994 puzzles 5
1,008–1,988 puzzles 8
2,002+ puzzles 10

Pricing is based on total units purchased at one time, not units per design — so splitting across designs doesn't cost you your volume discount.

What piece counts and sizes are available?
Pieces Finished size
16 5" × 7"
100 9" × 12"
200 12" × 12"
250 15.5" × 19.5"
300 19" × 23" or 18" × 24"
500 19" × 23" or 18" × 24"
1,000 20" × 27" or 20" × 30" — 1,008 unit minimum
How long does a wholesale run take?

Standard: 20–25 days.

The clock starts once we have both artwork approval and payment.

Rush: 5–15 days depending on quantity, for an additional $2.50 per unit.

Timelines can fluctuate with production volume. If you have a hard deadline, tell us upfront.

Can I get a sample before ordering?

Yes.

A full custom sample puzzle and box is $50, including shipping to you.

Your $50 is not credited toward a production order.

Custom 1,000-piece samples aren't currently available due to our production process.

What's included in the box? Can I customize it?

Standard pricing includes an 8" × 10" × 2" box with a printed top and four printed sides.

Bottom wrap (printing on the underside) is an add-on that gets cheaper — then free — with volume:

Order size Bottom wrap
Under 1,008 units $1.75/unit
1,022–2,002 units $1.00/unit
Over 2,002 units Included

Inserts: 7.125" x 9.5" (+$0.75/puzzle)

We currently only use 8" × 10" × 2" boxes for puzzles.

Do you offer design help?

Graphics work is $75 per hour, half-hour minimum — covering file prep and design support when artwork needs work to meet spec.

Are your puzzles made in the USA?

Yes.

We print, die-cut, and package every puzzle at one of our two production facilities.

536 SE 6th Avenue in Portland, Oregon 97214

3500 West 38th Street in Chicago, Illinois 60632

Anything else I should know before ordering?
  • Overs and unders: production can vary up to 3% from your ordered quantity; the difference is billable.
  • Residential delivery may carry an additional shipping charge.
  • Artwork specs matter: files supplied outside our specifications may incur design or production fees.
  • Carton counts are typical but may vary slightly.

Artwork & Files

What resolution does my image need to be?

Artwork must meet the pixel dimensions for your chosen size. Files supplied outside our specifications may incur design or production fees, so it's worth checking before you submit.

Design Aspects - We can take almost any file type. Use CMYK color settings when setting up your puzzle and box files.

Raster Files - If supplying raster files (JPEG, PNG, etc) please remove all template die lines before sending.

Vector Files - If supplying vector files (PDF, EPS, etc) please outline all fonts, text, and die lines before sending.

Pieces Finished size Required pixels
50 15.5" × 19.5" 4650 × 5850
100 9" × 12" 2700 × 3600
200 12" × 12" 3600 × 3600
250 15.5" × 19.5" 4650 × 5850
300 19" × 23" 5700 × 6900
300 18" × 24" 5400 × 7200
500 19" × 19" 5700 × 5700
500 18" × 24" 5400 × 7200
550 15" × 24" 4500 × 7200
1,000 20" × 27" 6000 × 8100
1,000 20" × 30" 6000 × 9000
My image was rejected by the uploader. What do I do?

Your image needs to meet the pixel dimensions for the size you picked — check it against the table above.

If it falls short:

  • Pick a smaller size. The 100-piece (9" × 12") needs the least, at 2700 × 3600.
  • Use the original file, not a text-message copy, web download, or screenshot — those are compressed and lose pixels.
  • Ask us to check it before you order: (503) 232-0373 or info@portlandpuzzle.com.

If you're having issues with the wholesale uploader:

Instead of splitting your order and having to fill out the form multiple times, the easiest solution is to upload those files to a cloud drive (Dropbox, Google Drive, WeTransfer, etc.). You can then submit your wholesale request form with all designs configured, but just skip uploading the actual files to the form. Instead, upload low resolution images to the form and paste the share link to your files in the 'Order Notes / Message' box at the bottom.

Do I keep the rights to artwork I send you?

Yes.

Each person is responsible for the rights to their artwork they send to us.

As a general rule, we keep the rights of handling the artwork until the order has shipped.

We have several artists on our website that we collaborate with in order to spread their art through puzzles.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes.

Currently, we ship to the following countries:

  • United States
  • Canada
  • United Kingdom
  • France
  • Germany
